The Lewter Law Firm, P.C. was established in 2009 when Attorney Gillian Lewter returned to her native New York after years of advocacy work in Michigan. What began as a solo practice has grown into a trusted name in matrimonial and family law across Long Island and New York City.

Meet the Team
Gillian Lewter
Founder & Managing Attorney
Attorney Gillian Lewter graduated Cum Laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and is admitted to practice law in the states of New York and Michigan. She is also admitted to practice federal law in the Eastern District of New York.
In Michigan, Gillian practiced as an advocate for domestic violence victims and was court-appointed criminal counsel. She returned to her native New York in 2009 when she opened her own practice, The Lewter Law Firm, P.C. That same year, she was selected for a prestigious year-long internship with Judge Gerald Lebovits of the New York City Housing Court.
Currently, Gillian artfully handles matrimonial and family law cases ranging from high-value asset distributions to debt allocation. She is dedicated to helping clients across New York with their family law needs. Gillian is a skilled litigator who has an innate ability to negotiate favorable settlements. When a settlement is not possible, Gillian puts her battle-tested trial talent to work for her clients.

Gregory Hyde, Esq.
Of Counsel
Greg Hyde is a highly accomplished attorney admitted to practice in New York and Pennsylvania. With over a decade of experience, he focuses on helping families and individuals navigate complex legal challenges.
Mr. Hyde's dedicated and compassionate approach have earned him a trusted reputation among his clients and the legal community at large. His strong advocacy skills and attention to detail have led to successful outcomes in and out of the courtroom.
Mr. Hyde looks forward to providing litigation and legal research support at the Lewter Law Firm, P.C., while providing both legal representation and emotional support to our clients.
Alisha Esau
Senior Paralegal
Born in South America Guyana and raised in Queens, New York, Alisha Esau brings a rich cultural perspective and deep community roots to her work at The Lewter Law Firm, P.C.
A 2021 Cum Laude graduate of Queens College with a Bachelor's in Sociology, Alisha also holds an Associate's in Criminal Justice from Queensborough Community College. She began her journey in the legal industry at the age of 18 and continues to pursue her passion for the law as an aspiring law student.
Outside of the office, Alisha loves to travel and experience the many different cultures around the world — a curiosity and openness that she brings to every client interaction.

Client Specialist
Lorka is a dedicated legal professional with a strong academic foundation and substantial background in the legal field. She earned her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice on the Pre-Law track from the prestigious Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, where she developed a strong interest in legal advocacy and the administration of justice.
Lorka Edmond serves as a Client Specialist at The Lewter Law Firm, P.C., providing essential support to our attorneys and clients throughout the legal process. Her dedication and organizational skills help keep cases moving forward efficiently, ensuring every client receives timely, attentive service and that no detail is overlooked.
